| 15-11-2004 WOMEN AND THE COOKBOOK AWARDS FEBRUARY 10-14, 2005 IN SWEDEN The majority of cookbook writers, food stylists and editors are women. There are more and more women Sommeliers, Wine-Makers, and Star Writers, such as Jancis Robinson, ot Serena Suthcliff. The majority of food magazine editors are women. So the Gourmand World Cookbook Awards are focusing in 2005 on women. The Dinner of Saturday February 12, will be made by the Swedish Women Chefs of the Milko Team, who have won several medals at the international contests, including a Silver Medal this fall in Erfurt. It will be the occasion to meet the leading women chefs of Sweden. In 2004, a special category was created to give a Award for Best Woman Chef Cookbook of the Year. The winner was Lea Linster of Luxembourg, for her book The Best of Lea Linster, Cuisinière, now published in English, French and Germany, by Lea Linster herself, with a big success leading to reprints in German and English. For her Award, Lea Linster received a bottle of the 1270 Perfume, created by Beatrice Cointreau for Cognac Frapin. The Frapin family has had vineyards since 1270. Lea Linster is invited again to Sweden as the past winner of the important award. The finalists for this years award include such famous chefs as : Karen Barnaby from Canada, Anne Sophie Pic from France, Sohyi Kim from Austria, Sally Clarke from Great Britain, Kirsten Dixon from Alaska,US. A special award will be given this year to commemorate the Greta Garbo Year in 2005. It will go to a book celebrating food in a movie. The award will be a stay in the Greta Garbo Rooms at the Haringe Castle Hotel, where Garbo lived for a while, 50 kilometers from Stockholm. The award will be given by Jenny Ljundberg, Chief Executive Officer of the hotel, another successful strong women entrepreneur who also runs the Grythyttan Inn and 3 other hotels.
